Guía PvP de Gakuran

El PvP es donde Gakuran brilla. Estos son los hábitos y elecciones que separan a quienes ganan las peleas del patio de quienes reciben el guardbreak en los primeros tres segundos.

PvP is where Gakuran shines. The difference between players who win schoolyard fights and players who get guardbroken in three seconds isn't their fighting style — it's their habits. This guide covers the picks, timings, and reads that actually win matches.

Pick a PvP-viable style first

You can outplay a bad matchup, but life is easier with a top style. Before grinding PvP:

  • Reroll toward S-tierBoxing or Wrestling. See the tier list.
  • If you're stuck on A-tier (Capoeira, Karate), that's fine — they're viable with good fundamentals.

The point is to remove the "my style is weak" excuse so you can focus on skill.

The three PvP fundamentals

1. Read before you commit

Don't open with your heavy. Throw lights to gather information:

  • Do they parry? → stop throwing predictable strings.
  • Do they block? → set up a guardbreak.
  • Do they mash? → parry their aggression.

One or two light exchanges tell you their habit. Punish the habit.

2. Win the parry mini-game

At higher levels, PvP is a parry war. Mix your timing so your lights aren't parry-baited:

  • Vary the number of lights before stepping out (2 vs 3 vs walk-away).
  • Occasional empty approach (run in, do nothing) baits their parry, then you punish the recovery.
  • When you parry, convert into a guaranteed light combo.

3. Convert guardbreaks into damage

Guardbreak is only worth it if you punish:

  • Guardbreak → heavy (M2) is your max damage route.
  • With Wrestling, chain guardbreak pressure into grabs.
  • With Boxing, the uninterruptible M2 means you can threaten heavies even outside guardbreaks.

Style-specific PvP tips

  • Boxing — lean on your safe M2. Throw heavies to interrupt their lights; they can't stop it.
  • Wrestling — apply guardbreak + grab pressure on blockers; force them to stop blocking, then punish the panic.
  • Capoeira — use mobility to whiff-punish; bait attacks and counter.
  • Karate — balanced; mix lights and occasional heavies.

Spacing & stage awareness

  • Hold Shift to reposition; never stand at the exact range their M2 covers while your parry is down.
  • Use corners and obstacles to limit their approach angles.
  • Reset to neutral when you're losing the exchange — pride gets you guardbroken.

How to actually improve

  • Warm up your parry timing in lower-stakes fights before ranked-style PvP.
  • After a loss, identify one habit that got you killed (whiffed parry? no guardbreak?).
  • Watch your opponents who beat you — copy their block/parry rhythm.

Checklist before you queue

  • [ ] S- or A-tier fighting style equipped (see tier list)
  • [ ] Parry and guardbreak inputs memorized (controls)
  • [ ] A plan vs blockers (guardbreak) and vs mashers (parry)
  • [ ] Enough rerolls banked to switch styles if the meta shifts (codes)
