Boxing
Signature: Uninterruptible heavy M2
Boxing is widely considered the best overall fighting style in Gakuran — an S-tier pick and the safest reroll target for new and competitive players alike. Its defining strength is an uninterruptible heavy (M2) that lets you bully aggressive opponents.
Why Boxing is S-tier
The core reason Boxing sits at the top of the tier list:
- Uninterruptible M2 — your heavy attack can't be stopped by incoming light attacks, so you can trade favorably and pressure freely.
- Strong, simple gameplan — effective at every skill level.
- Great punish damage — convert reads into big damage with your heavy.
How to play Boxing
Boxing rewards confident, forward pressure:
- Throw lights to read the opponent's habit (parry / block / mash).
- Spam-safe heavies — your M2 trades through their lights, so use it to interrupt aggression.
- Parry mashers, then counter with a light combo.
- Guardbreak blockers, then land your M2 for max damage.
Boxing in PvP
In PvP, Boxing is the benchmark style:
- vs aggressive players — interrupt their approach with M2; they can't stop it.
- vs blockers — set up guardbreak → heavy.
- vs parry-heavy players — vary your light count and use the empty-approach bait.
How to get Boxing
Boxing is obtained through the reroll system:
- Bank free rerolls from codes.
- Reroll Fight Style (menu → Stats → Next → Fight Style → Reroll) until Boxing appears. See the reroll guide.
- Stop rerolling once you have it — Boxing is a keeper.
Should you reroll for Boxing?
Yes. If you don't have an S-tier style yet, Boxing is the top target. If you already have Wrestling, Boxing is a lateral S-tier option — pick based on whether you prefer pressure (Boxing) or guardbreak/grab control (Wrestling).
